People rarely remember a transaction exactly as it happened. They remember how it felt. Whether the details suggested someone cared. Whether the experience felt generic, or defined by a point of view.

That’s not optional. It’s the standard.

Lisa Vanderpump has built businesses on that distinction. Not by chasing trends, but by understanding that loyalty is earned when volume is high, patience is low, and every interaction either reinforces the brand or weakens it. She’s created experiences people return to, talk about, and recommend.

In conversation with ABC News Chief Business Correspondent Rebecca Jarvis, Vanderpump reflects on what many organizations still get wrong: treating service as operational when it’s fundamentally emotional. Together they’ll explore hiring for judgment over process, what consistency actually looks like when you’re scaling, and why the brands people love most aren’t the ones that eliminate friction. They’re the ones that make every interaction feel deliberate.

Customers may come for convenience, price, or curiosity. They come back because the experience feels intentional. Because the standard is real. Because someone decided it would be.

Lisa Vanderpump hails from London, England. She and her husband Ken Todd have been entrenched in the restaurant and nightclub industry since they started their partnership over 30 years ago. Their four very successful restaurants and bars in Los Angeles are just a peek into their joint ventures.

In 2009, Lisa became known for the hit Bravo TV series, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Her unique mix of sparkling glamour and down-to-earth style has appealed to thousands of viewers.  Fans can also catch Lisa on her spinoff show Vanderpump Rules, of which she is an Executive Producer, which centers around her West Hollywood eatery SUR, as well as her Beverly Hills favorite Villa Blanca, and gorgeous culinary endeavor PUMP. Vanderpump Rules’s success has been touted by the New Yorker, The New York Times, Time Magazine and more.

In addition to her successful restaurant portfolio, she is opening The Vanderpump Hotel, her first hotel in partnership with Caesars Entertainment in Las Vegas, scheduled to open early 2026.
